In the song “This Is America” by Singer and Songwriter Childish Gambino released on may 5, 2018, Gambino discusses and visually shows his opinion on the current day problems of African American life. This song/video was created because of the mistreatment and brutality of African Americans over the recent years. Gambino’s main project was to display and create awareness about discrimination and police brutality. When it comes to rhetorical strategy the focus is on pathos as Gambino is showing a lot of emotion and expressing it through his lyrics too. Gambino’s main goal was to create wide controversy and bring a lot attention to the wrong being done and lack of care for all human life. This all lead up to a wide variety of reactions from the public. Wither it was a lot of criticism and hate or a tremendous amount of support backing his message. Gambino wrote this song in hope to change the country and views on what’s going on in America.

My top three post that are mostly on my feed are of, video games, sports and food. Im not really part of any groups or online communities, If I had to give an answer id say Instagram and Snap Chat. My peers all follow sports, other than that we are mostly different.

I will mostly try to go with what I Know and believe, but personally I find social media to be mostly reliable.

Who are you as a person?

As a person I would say that I am mostly nice to all people I meet, make friends easily and have good social skills. With that being said I mostly like to enjoy my time alone at home, rather than being social.

I would say as a Writer I am just an amateur. Most of my writing has ben persuasive. I often struggle with my grammar. I have never taken it too seriously and still have much to learn. Most of my writing experience is from schooling and assigned prompts. In my life I haven’t done much free writing just to do it.

As a student I am one willing to learn and have the want to learn. I will always make my dead lines and turn things in. When it comes to effort I am somewhat lazy at times and could apply myself more.

I am expressing my opinion/reaction to the article “Hurricane Dorian will be a ‘very big’ storm, Trump says, as Floridians prepare for potential category 4.” This article is from fox a republic favored news group. I think this is a well written article to help inform about coming danger of the hurricane. There was not too much Reference or opinion of the Republican Party other than the ofter reference of President Trump’s name. My over all reaction is that this is a helpful informational article while not being too biassed.

When it comes to my type of motivation I say I’m an obliger. When it comes to outer expectations I will almost always get the job done although, sometimes better than other’s. I will always hit deadlines weather its personal or for work, school and more. I do however struggle with resolving my problems. Sometimes when I try to get better in school at my weaker subjects I get discouraged. This is because I feel I’m wasting my time trying something I’ve had a rough past with. I do not have the full tendencies of an obliger though where in other aspects of self motivation I fit into other categories. Majority being on the obliger side motivation. To thrive in this class and be successful I will make sure to stay on top of work and have reminders either technology or a person.

In the article “Gronkowski: Football was bringing me down,” by author, Mike Reiss, discusses the mental and physical toll football took on Rob Gronkowski. As the author states “Gronkowski became emotional Tuesday morning when describing his decision to retire from the NFL in march.” Suggesting that Gronkwoski had a inner struggle between his love of the game and leaving it behind. With quotes such as “I was not in a good place.” and “I was losing that joy in my life” it became apparent that Gronkowski’s mental health was down. The author suggest’s that Gronkowski is to be an advocate for future use of CBD products as an alternative pain relief rather than harsh pain killers. On the topic of physical health Grownkowski stated that in his last game he got the “deepest thigh bruises i’ve ever gotten” that led to eternal bleeding and his decision to leave the game. As the author states on Gronkowski’s behalf “he’s in a better place now”.
